ECCOMAS - European Community on COmputational Methods in Applied Sciences
The European Community on COmputational Methods in Applied Sciences was founded in 1993, with the support of 18 European associations which federate more than 10.000 scientists, to promote joint efforts of European universities, research institutes and industries which are active in numerical methods and computer simulation in Engineering and Applied Sciences.
ECMI - European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry
Realizing the need of interaction between universities and research groups in industry, in 1986, ten European Mathematical Institutes founded the European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry (ECMI) with the intention of offering their collective knowledge and expertise to European industry. The major objectives of ECMI are the following: to promote the use of mathematical models in industry, to educate Industrial Mathematicians to meet the growing demand for such experts and to operate on a European scale.
